When you're the official importer of the most popular wheels on the planet, you can expect some pressure to bring some serious heat to the annual SEMA show. It's a task that Mackin Industries, Inc. has faced head-on for years and, for 2019, their multi-part display booth, which sits just a few feet beyond one of the main entrances fed by the Convention Center's corridor was more than ready for the barrage of foot traffic that took place throughout the week.
Burst through the double-door arches and on one half of the booth you're met, interestingly enough, by a Mustang of all things. Piloted by Justin Pawlak, the modern-day Pony car was just recently finished and covered in Falken Tire's official colors along with Gram Lights 57DR.
Yes, we know, there are in fact quite a few Supras at SEMA 2019 - a direct result of a new, exciting vehicle being introduced to an industry that survives and often thrives on producing performance parts for said vehicle. With that said, Auto Tuned's Nitro Yellow example was brought in and placed on new Rays G025 wheels.
Further venturing into the electric vehicle world, Mackin invited Unplugged Performance to bring in this Tesla on new Rays VMF C-01. The aero kit and Voltex rear wing make a pretty big statement on this platform and if you're not keeping count, the number of Tesla builds has steadily increased in recent months.
Jump across the show floor carpet and into the Advan half of Mackin's booth, and you're met by a tsunami of angles, vents and curves courtesy of a Varis Kamikaze-equipped R35.
The extreme aero adds some considerable size to the GT-R and to match pace with the additions, Advan Racing R6 are bolted in place.
In the same spirit of the wild R35 that it sits just inches from, this Varis-fitted Subaru STI tried two different looks for the big show.
On the passenger side you'll find glossy bronze Advan RS III, while the driver's side rides on bright red Advan TC-4.
With the incredible popularity of the TE37 truck and SUV market already well-established, Advan's RG-D2 line, with its concave spoke design and now truck-friendly sizing, is poised to make its impact on the market.
Advan Racing's very popular GT will now also see a 19in "GT Beyond" version that features a barrel rim profile which plays nicely with large brake systems and there are 5, yes 5, different spoke concave options and the spokes themselves are actually longer, allowing for a larger disc design as the spokes start near the outer portion of the rim.
Project MU and Alcon team up for one very serious brake set up. The 2-piece, 6 pot, forged caliper is produced in aerospace aluminum, is ultra-lightweight and features a ventilated stainless piston that's been friction coated. Like we said, this is serious stuff and if you're thinking of a price tag in your head right now, add another few bucks because these race-bred stoppers are the epitome of "top of the food chain."
BMW's lug bolts aren't all that desired by the Japanese car enthusiast crowd so for those that want to change wheels on their A90 Supra but would prefer a much more familiar lug nut set up, Project Kics has the answer with these wheel studs that can be threaded in and tightened down using a socket due to their hex style head.
Then you simply thread on whatever lug nuts you'd like, and, of course, Kics has tons of options available in that category as well.
Mackin also unveiled these sleek Tesla Model S trunk spoilers that will be made available in gloss carbon fiber, matte-finish dry carbon and even a forged carbon version.
Just outside the doors, Mackin displayed a few more vehicles for those passing through the main corridor, including this Evo packing an HKS intercooler up front, Gram Lights 57Xtreme and, you guessed it, more aggressive Varis aero armor.
This fully-equipped Tacoma was sporting matte red TE37XT wrapped in burly Yokohama Geolandar rubber.
Mackin Ind. has proven their ability to adapt and transition year after year in order to keep their booth interesting for showgoers and they never seem to have any problems bringing in considerable foot traffic throughout the week at the biggest aftermarket convention around.
