Booths are still being erected. Signs are going up. Carpet’s being laid, forklifts are scrambling about everywhere, and cars are being positioned and cleaned up for Tuesday’s big kickoff. In just a matter of hours, the disarray of construction that grips the sprawling Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) will be exchanged for a different kind of mayhem, as scores of aftermarket industry types will descend en masse to the biggest car-lover’s trade show on planet earth: the SEMA Show.
After paying off a small army of security guards and surly teamsters, we finagled our way into the Central Hall of the LVCC to check out booth prep and see if we couldn't get an early look at some of the cars we've been itching to peep. We stumbled across Ryan Tuerck's much buzzed about Ferrari 458-powered Toyota 86 and witnessed firsthand Big Mike's new look for his revered Honda Prelude. We snooped around OEM booths and got up close and personal with one NSX GT3 towed behind a specially prepped MDX. Most of all, though, we got to see a whole bunch of clean cars ready for a week of double takes and stopping spectators in their tracks.
Peruse the gallery, and of course check back early and often, as we'll have a metric ton of SEMA Show 2016 coverage coming your way!
