Drift Showoff is also a collaboration between both performance and enthusiast groups, including one of the biggest, Club4AG, along with Livesockets Entertainment and Battle Version. Together, they form a new association spawned solely to promote the sport of drifting. Ken Miyoshi says, "As we've pioneered the car-show scene, it's now come to the point where most shows are being thrown by people who don't care about cars at all. With this, we're planning to help out our sponsors, participants, and the promoters. We're a nonprofit organization [that] wants to make sure that this sport is promoted the right way. We're going to have set governed rules and regulations, and we'll place a huge emphasis on safety. Car shows are car shows; but if drift events are run wrong, you can get yourself into a lot of trouble."
And to the guy in the Lexus SC 300 who hit a parked car in the parking lot while attempting to drift, it's because of clowns like you that events as cool as this get shut down. Use some common sense next time and take your drifting to the track, that way you won't be as embarrassed, telling your friends that you broadsided Yoshinori.
