R Generation Special Edition DVD includes:* 20-page scrap book of photos and memorabilia on the import scene covering the past 15 years* Trailer of the documentary* Outtakes* Top car features* Featured photo gallery* Much, much more
You can pick up a copy of R-Generation initially at any Hot Import Nights or online at www.r-generation.com. A second release of the film will be available in retail stores nationwide in the fall of 2004. But one question remains: Why weren't any of the Super Street staff besides Howard Lim interviewed? Perhaps our $10 bowl cuts aren't savvy enough for the cameras.
Club Spin:As you should already know, the nightclub aspect of HIN is one of its many highlights. Previous engagements have already featured the likes of Donald Glaude, Charles Feelgood, and DJ Mea, but this year boasts an all-female talent roster, with performances by Miss Lisa, Diamond and Tatiana (who just happen to be Playboy Playmate DJs), and Los Angeles graffiti artist/DJ Lady Tribe, who not only soud good, but are as equally appeasing to the eyes as well. But the DJs aren't the only thing worth seeing. You'll also be treated to a huge display of sight and sound with all performances going down on a new super-formulated concert stage with three levels.
Pepsi Urban Stage:Calling all DJs, MCs, dancers, B-boys, and B-girls: The Pepsi Hip Hop Urban Lifestyle is what this area's all about. This will be the ultimate battleground, where you can get creative in any one of the following: the Performance Ring, Turntablist Scratch Showcase, a one-on-one battle between MC'ing, or the B-Boy/B-Girl Supreme Ring Freestyle exhibition. There will be plenty of special guests and a Social Dance Movement Dance Crew competition, with plenty of prizes and giveaways to follow. And since Pepsi is in charge, you can grab free samples of Pepsi cola while checking out the Pepsi Mitsubishi Lancer show car.
Miss Lisa:Miss Lisa is one of North America's fastest up-and-coming DJs. A product of San Diego, California's nightclub scene, Miss Lisa uses her sensual mixing style and diverse track selections to set dance floors ablaze. Her sound incorporates a number of influences from her many residencies and events that she's played over the past five years, which includes Starscape in Baltimore, 420 in Seattle, Together as one in Los Angeles, and the Winter Music Conference in Miami. Without being pigeonholed in any one particular genre, she creates a desirable fusion of sound that will get your body moving. Wtih honors such as being voted San Diego's House DJ of the Year, Miss Lisa has quickly become a household name on the West Coast.
