Day 3 - 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
This was our last morning and despite the fact that Rob and I slept for a good two hours, we had to get up at 8 a.m. because approximately 50 cars were waiting for us to lead them to the next stop, Enkei in Jacksonville, Florida. We met everyone prepared and ready to roll at Racing Zone. Rob and I filled up on NOS Energy Drinks because the last thing we needed on our last event for Super Street was to die while sleeping at the wheel.
We arrived at Enkei around 2 p.m., two hours late. Scores of Super Street fans were waiting; I was just glad to get out of the car and eat some breakfast/lunch. An hour later we made our outro-duction and bounced. Rob needed some sleep so I volunteered to drive for at least an hour. Our next stop was Atlanta.
During my hour's worth of driving, I nearly killed Rob and myself around 10 times, while Grimace watched from behind us. Though I was on my third NOS Energy Drink, the five hours of sleep in the past two days was winning the battle. Driving up the 75 Highway, I swerved to miss trees and other cars, all while hallucinating visions of toasters flying in the air, women from the sky, and oncoming trains.
We somehow managed to arrive in Atlanta at 7 p.m. in one piece. Good times!
