Spring Break -The Bash At The Break

There were some mega cars in the mix at the Bash. HKS brought its Track Attack Altezza. Not to be outdone, Pioneer showed up with an authentic Champ Car from the CART series. Meguiar's brought its impeccable Integra and the Fox Marketing Saturn made the trek down south for the show. HP Racing displayed its Civic drag car and Ricky was so impressed he went back to Florida for the NHRA season-opener to do a story on the car (page 74). (Yeah. That was so my idea.-RC) We also found Jonathan Goolsby's CRX (complete feature on page 82) and Kevin Jones' Civic coupe (page 88) sunning themselves on the beach. When he wasn't wandering around in search of Sharon Sotto, Ricky spent the rest of his time fondling Julia Phan's Silvia conversion.

Judging still went smoothly even though all the cars were cleared from the parking lot on the first night of the show. You try judging 125 cars in one day, mixing them up, and then attempting to find the other 125 cars the next day. We tried to get Ken Miyoshi and his crew to dress up like Judge Judy, but they said it was too hot to wear a black gown and they'd feel stupid carrying around a gavel. Whatever, weaksauce!
