Proving to be the most climactic highlight of the day, Rhys and Sam gave the fans exactly what they came for: drama and excitement. In most situations, Sam spinning the Viper on the first run would have sealed the deal, calling it a day-and it should've been. It wasn't until track officials realized that the concession stand had drained its coolers, which spread water out to the track causing Sam's unfortunate snafu. Rhys initially declined a restart but after waiting for the track to clear, changed his mind, sending the crowd into a frenzy. As the two buckled in for some serious game, they both went dead even on the first run. But shockingly, Rhys spun out during the second pass, giving Sam First place for finishing a clean run! Rhys was visibly upset but maintained composure and should be commended for being sportsmanlike given that he didn't have to opt for a restart. Sam's win keeps him in first place for points, with 300 (as of press time) so far. Rhys follows with 258 and Tanner third, with 242.
