Taka Aono, who never has any qualms about taking on cars with up to three times the horsepower of his diminutive AE86, certainly had his work cut out for him when he lined up with Signal's Boney Okubo and the monster R34. But a poor line by Boney, which destroyed one of G4 TV's film cameras, gave Taka the advantage and eventually the win, as Boney seemed to have lost concentration thereafter. Sans-Solstice, Rhys fired up the GTO one more 'gain with Casper Canul on his tail, nabbing the 6-4 advantage and the win with a great, consistent line.

Rising star and newcomer to the Drift Alliance squad, Ryan Tuerck drove a nice, tight line during qualifying, but spun out in the 240SX Motoring Nissan 240SX (what else would he drive?) while competing against Tanner Foust. JR Gittin gave FATF3 stunt junkie Rich Rutherford a solid matchup, forcing a "one more time" run that resulted in a win for JR after Rich tagged the wall during the last pass. Ken Gushi and Calvin Wan played bumper cars after they, too, went at it during a "one more time," in which Ken tapped Calvin's rear bumper during his entry crossover. The damage isn't severe in either case and Calvin moved on. Conrad Grunewald, who's usually on par during game time, couldn't find his groove, slipping up on the entry against Sam Hubinette during his first pass, then spinning out at the last turn on the second.

Top 8/Top 4
When he isn't busy finding drift cars for Bow Wow on Fast Inc., Tyler McQuarrie is blazing trails of smoke against Kenji Yamanaka in the Top 8 and dominating as Kenji understeered through a bad line to give Tyler the go to the Top 4. Taka Aono was not able to initiate his drift early enough on his first run against Rhys, and the GTO simply spanked the little Hachi during the next pass. JR upset Tanner with a quickness, and Calvin spun out while duking it out with Sam Hubinette, giving the Mopar/Nuformz Viper a chance to once again take a top spot.

In the Top 4, Tyler paired up with Rhys, but gave Rhys the early win while spinning out during the first tandem. And like two inseparable forces, JR met with Sam again as a Mustang prepared to dance with a Viper. Sam took a huge 7-3 advantage. Though a "one more time" call by the judges and crowd prompted another exciting matchup, it was Sam who eventually took all the chips. JR would, however, lose to Tyler for the Third place deciding tandem and-like a replay of most of 2005's season-the quest for number one as Sam went face to face with Rhys.
