At an MSC event judges can rely on a speed gun but the entry speed is only used as a reference. When the two finalists each run a flawless drift with an excellent line the car with the faster entry speed will have an advantage when all else is equal. Finalist no. 82 Matsui in the RPS13 had great angle and came flying into the judges' corner. The speed gun supported our opinion with a 75mph display. Matsui and his Sil-Eighty won the tournament which was his second for the year. MSC even presents a $1000 prize for the winner of each round and let's not forget prizes from parts makers such as HKS, the always bubbly champagne fight, and at Nikko, the sacks of rice. I don't know how long the MSC will be around as it could blow up to become a pro series, or fizzle into the sky like so many other motorsports events of the past. One thing for sure is that JDM drifting at its original style can be found at the MSC. Without a doubt everyone was just having a freakin' blast in the middle of these rice fields. Just look at these guys.
