DAY ONE: MIDWEST LEG
DESTINATION: INDIANAPOLIS, IN TO LEXINGTON, KY
MILES TRAVELLED: 406
WHAT WE SHOULDN'T HAVE EATEN: SAUSAGE MCMUFFIN WITH EGG, FLAMING HOT CHEETOS, SLIM JIMS, HOMEMADE CHILI, CHEESEBURGERS
CONSTIPATED? JONNY STILL WAS
Shortly after sunrise, our pack of Tour riders started off small, but our eager crew forged through miles of treacherous rainfall to make our first stop at Modified Auto Designs in Indianapolis. Their friendly staff gave our low-carb diets a shock with a caca en fuego-inducing lunch consisting of homemade chili and burgers. We then set sail for the town of Lexington, arriving just shortly before dusk. At our overnight stop, we set up shop at a local dining establishment with the help of Injected Performance, Racing Technology and LexiStreets.com before heading out to Paradise City for the night. Of course, if you weren't in Lexington and aren't sure what Paradise City is, let's just say that a full set of teeth isn't required when it comes to picking up the late night shift at the town's best gentleman's establishment.
DAY TWO: MIDWEST LEG
DESTINATION: KNOXVILLE, TN TO GREENSBORO, NC
MILES TRAVELLED: 485
WHAT WE SHOULDN'T HAVE EATEN: MORE PIZZA, FROZEN YOGURT, HUEVOS RANCHEROS, SCRAMBLED EGGS, BACON, SUNFLOWER SEEDS, SPICY BEEF JERKY
CONSTIPATED? NOT THIS TIME
Although the temptation was strong to want to stay in Lexington for another night (after all, who could resist the $3 entry coupons the "nightclub" owner gave us in exchange for us dropping enough cash to pay for his energy bills for a year), we still had a full two days of driving ahead of us and we were set to rendezvous with the North leg in North Carolina that night. We sprinted quickly towards Knoxville after a police escort took us out to the highway (Lexington, you rock!) where Racing Innovations was ready to greet us with more pizza than we could stomach. After loading our tummies with what could've been our twentieth serving of NOS Energy Drink (in a single day), we set our sights on Greensboro, North Carolina-the place where our two legs came together-where we would also throw down the annual overnight shindig with giveaways galore, not-so-buff dudes push-upping it out for some free schwag, and a chance to play Forza on the Xbox 360. NOS brought in its DJs to keep the crowd hyped before spilling out into the streets for a late night Waffle House run.
