Chino City - Chinatown Showoff - Import Car Show

In all the years that Mainstream Productions has held the Chinatown Showoff, I've never been. Come to think of it, the only two times I remember being in Chinatown was when I was six getting my first bike, and then a couple years ago when I got lost trying to find a club. Now that I've seen it up close and in the daylight, it's kind of dirty. Not a proper representation of my people--I'm not at all impressed.

Though through the litter, traffic, imitation purses and dinginess, there was a gleam of light coming from the Cathay Bank where over 150 cars were crammed into the parking lot. The air was smoky from the Chinese New Year fireworks and there was constant drumming in the background to go along with the crazy dancing dragons, but I managed to get through to all the cars and vendor booths. No red cups this time either, just red envelopes. Falken rocked the VIP (which you'll see more of later in this issue). and teams like Hybrid and High End represented as usual. Of course, this had to be the only day in LA that it rained, so it came down to ducking for cover in one of the scant California Health A-rated restaurants to grab some food. Maybe something closer to C would be more realistic.
