Japanese Classic Car Show 2008 - Event Coverage

Japanese Classic Car Show Jccs

If you think EFs, AE86s, or S13s are old school, then you would have to call some of these cars pre-school. JCCS is the most anticipated show all year, for guys like me. There is no other large gathering of various old school JDM classics like this anywhere else in the country. And you just don't get to see old schools like this on the streets daily. So this event is pretty much the only fix I get for this genre. The only other show of this kind that I can think of would be the JCCA show in Japan. Maybe someday I can cover that show for y'all as well.

The Queen Mary lawns of Long Beach use to be the stomping grounds for both JCCS and Toyotafest, but this year both shows were held relocated. I had no idea if the new location at Hidden Valley Park in Irvine would generate the same attendance or would display the cars as well as the Queen Mary location. I'm happy to say, this was my favorite of all JCCS shows. The display area was huge, as well as the turnout. There wasn't a dominating force of one particular car or marque either. There were RX-3s, Celicas, mangos, Cressidas, Hakosuka Skylines, Z-cars and even a Nissan Century. To top off the show, there seemed like more vendors attended this year than before. There was even a Source Interlink booth!
