Tetsu's Tales
Straight outta J-pan. Engrish from our man in Japan. Read if you dare.Honda announced stop to develop new NSX because of bad global economic. Honda built prototype NSX and was testing at the racetracks few month ago. These days, I can't find any good news about sport cars. It looks like the market says "no more sport cars." But Nissan is selling GT-R and 370Z. And Toyota has still plan of new Hachiroku sport car. Honda will sell another Civic Type-R 3-doors hatchback. Honda of Europe is also selling Civic Type-R 3-doors hatchback. Japanese Civic Type-R is sedan. Japanese car magazine Xa Car, and readers keep on saying Civic Type-R hatchback is real Civic Type-R and Honda of Japan should sell it in Japan. They say it from 2006 until now and I think Honda of Japan catch up and decide to sell Civic Type-R hatchback in Japan. Civic Type-R hatchback made in Europe that's why Japanese Honda ship it to Japan from Europe. Japanese Civic Type-R sedan is different with Civic Type-R hatchback. Type-R sedan and Type-R hatchback have K20 motor but sedan's motor makes 228HP, hatchback's motor makes 203HP. Civic Type-R hatchback's chassis is modified Honda Fit chassis. I think you don't understand why Xa Car magazine and readers say Civic Type-R hatchback is good car. Civic Type-R sedan is almost race car. Suspension set up is hard so it is hard to drink a cup of coffee while driving. I think Type-R sedan is very good on the racetrack. If you thought you wanted to enjoy to drive it on street and racetrack, Civic Type-R sedan is best. But if you thought you wanted to enjoy to drive it on the street and mountain pass (Don't do street racing!) and you need to take your grandparents, Civic Type-R hatchback is best. I think we Japanese is very lucky because Japanese can choose sedan Type-R or Hatchback Type-R in Japan. I am surprising very much because one car magazine Xa Car and readers can change big companies mind. Honda of Japan didn't think about Civic Type-R Hatchback for selling in Japan last year. I think Presedent Obama's catchword is not just dream word. Japanese car magazine and the readers change it before the election in USA in 2008. I wonder if Super Street and you can change big car companies mind.www.myspace.com/oted15Tetsu
Say what?
"Chopping the top of a car is nothing new. Guys with old American V-8 customs have been doing it to their cars for 50 years. But we've never seen it done to a '98 Civic Type-R before..."Brent Romans, talking about Signal Auto's chop top drag car. The roof was lowered over four inches, to reduce wind drag and weight.
