Here's how it works: Get your car certified (info at hotimportnights.com), then list your certification number when you register at Hot Import Nights. You will then receive an e-mail notification if your car has been accepted (all cars must meet H.I.N. standards). Once you've paid your registration fee, all you have to do is show up during the check-in time. Make sure you have your "sound quality certification sticker" on your car. You will then be judged by a team of car sound specialists along with the Hot Import Nights judges. Several different classes are available. (As of press time, certification rules are being written out and will be released as soon as they are finished.)
Participants will also have the opportunity to post photos and specs of their cars online. Votes will be tabulated, and participants can gain points through those who log on to www.carsound.com or www.hotimportnights.com and vote for the cars that they like most.
The "ICE" Award or "In-Car Entertainment" award was designed to acknowledge the enthusiasts that have taken the extra step to transform the inside of a vehicle into a virtual playground. Every show car entered at Hot Import Nights is automatically entered into this class and judged on the following:
FunctionalityAre all of the product in the car operational? Are controls and adjustments easily accessible (ergonomic)?Cosmetic IntegrationDoes the installation match the rest of the vehicle?Have there been extra steps taken in the entertainment system to help match the theme of the vehicle?Attention to detail (hidden wires and upholstery).Entertainment ValueHow much excitement will the entertainment system create to those who view or experience it? Wow factor (how cool is it?)

Hot Import Nights is the place to be if you want to find some of the wildest cars. But how do these cars get here, especially those that are driven on a regular basis? Many of these cars seem to be cleaner than ones you'd see lined up in a showroom.
So, where do you start, finish, and what goes in between? That's up to the owner, but the desired end result is to have the cleanest car.
If you are like most owners, chances are your show car sees the road and needs a lot of attention. For this reason, it may be easier for you to complete a full vehicle detail prior to arriving to the show. This will leave the owner with the fine touches of a quick detail upon arrival. Take a look at this little sample of Roy Cheah's show-winning Accord that was recently prepped for a show.
