Hot Import Nights On-SiteStep By Step1 StepClassificationWhen you roll in, your car will be classified by our judges as a two-door, four-door, mild or wild. Your classification will be determined by the number of exterior body modifications you have done. This classification determines what you will be competing against in the Class competition. The judges will also note the make of your car which will enter you in the Vehicle Make competition.
2 StepRegisteringWhile in line you'll receive your modification card and be asked to pull up to the registration checkpoint. Once you hand in your completed modification card to the attendant, she will then enter your information into the database (mild, wild, two-door, four-door, vehicle make, name) and give you a vehicle registration number. This number will go on your modification card and be used by the judges when they mark their score sheets. Your modification card must be clearly displayed on the drivers-side window.
Please note our new rules dictate that your car must be in running condition to compete. You will not get past the registration counter if your car is not running. So, if you are towing a car to the show, dump it in the parking lot and drive it past our checkpoint.
3 StepSpottingNow that you're registered, you're ready to be placed (or spotted) in the show. Follow the guides as they direct you to your assigned spot. Once your car is spotted, you must turn off your engine, secure your vehicle, and disarm your alarm system (this is a must). Please note that the sound inside the venue will not be tested. If your alarm is not disarmed, your car will be towed. It is a major disruption to the production, so we have no choice.
4 StepJudgingThe judges have the option whether or not to review your list of car modifications. Some of them overview the mod card while others just judge based on what they see. The judges will tear your competitor number off your modification card. Some cars may be judged even though the mod card is not torn. Only accessible modification cards are torn. Once your vehicle has been judged, your scoring sheet will later be entered into a computerized tally system. This will automatically tell us who the winners are by number, showing no favoritism. It's all in the numbers. You don't have to be by your car for it to be judged. However, the judges need access to areas of your vehicle that you would like judged.
5 StepAwardsThere will be an awards ceremony on the main stage. You will be asked to present a photo ID to pick up your trophy. Good luck!
