2003 Nissan Day Celebration Costa Mesa California - News

Nation's Love Affair With Nissan Prompts Nissan Day

Nissan Day Celebration Line Up

Beautiful Costa Mesa, California, was the location for the first annual Nissan Day Celebration, where Stillen volunteered its facilities so Nissan nerds could walk around and experience everything Nissan-related. Numerous Nissan show cars from all over Southern California showed up to be dyno'd, while spectators came to purchase new Stillen aftermarket parts and relax under the SoCal sun.

Vendors were present as well to display parts and showoff their project cars. Eibach Springs flexed with its Lotus Elise as well as its popular suspension systems. HKS had a chameleon green-gold-orange Maxima that helped make Nissan Day successful. This Maxima attracted Nissan lovers and car aficionados alike. The day's hardest worker, though, was Stillen, dynoing more than a dozen cars and even buying drinks for everyone. Naturally, the well-liked 350Z was in attendance with all-out Stillen garb, starting with the new line of superchargers. Stillen's R&D dudes expect its supercharger to gain as much as 70hp once it's completed.

According to company officials, "Nissan Day is the combination of Z-Day and Maxima Day coupled with the celebration of everything Nissan." Although George W. Bush hasn't officially declared it a national holiday, Nissan Day was an event to remember.

Super Street Idol
Sharon Sotto. Mary J. Castillo. Aiko Tanaka. Russell Brock. If these names ring any bells at all in your empty head, then you've just won a thimble full of soda pop in the new Guess That Import Model board game. OK, maybe you didn't win anything and there is no such game, but at least you know the who's-who of the import modeling industry. In fact, you've probably emptied out numerous Jergen's Aloe Vera bottles to them. These models are what makes this and other magazines thrive, and that's the reason why we're starting our first annual model search.

OK, we lied, there are many reasons why we're doing this-mainly because we need a walking buddy when we trek down Wilshire Boulevard to our parking lot, and someone to call and hang up on, kind of like what Ricky does to Sharon every Saturday night. Regardless, many women dream of being displayed half-naked in our magazine, and we're here to make that a reality. We can't pay you much, er, we can't pay at all, but we surely can print your personal Web site for the many Super Street perverts to visit, and maybe the staff can take you out to lunch at the local Subway. At the very least, you'll have the exposure you so desperately need, and we'll finally get to see real women up close without having to pay for them.

So for all the wannabe import models out there, this is your chance to shine and you don't have to be scorned unmercifully by Simon Cowle. Send in your pictures to Super Street, Model Search, 6420 Wilshire Blvd., 9th flr., Los Angeles, CA 90048 or send in high-res images to sstreet@primedia.com. The winner will get a chance to model in our state-of-the-art studio and get to have a turkey sandwich on us ("us" meaning John Naderi). To appease Jonathan Wong, there will also be a Male Model search on the side.
