Sure, some of it has to do with the fact that we're all partially insane, but more than that, we just want everyone to have an awesome time and go home with some new gear. You can thank all of our sponsors for that. Being one of the under 6-feet people in this world, I know first hand that it ain't easy trying to grab T-shirts and hats getting thrown at you from a big rig when there's Jason Dienhart-sized people all around you. That's why we came up with different competitions and raffles to give everyone a fair chance at some bigger and better prizes.
People who thought they were a bigger and badder B-Boy than Yamz could compete and win a set of Yokohama tires. Luck of the draw in the raffles won Enkei wheels, a Pep Boys gift certificate, or Audiobahn subwoofers. Not enough? How about a belching contest or hot wing eat-off for some Lighting Audio components? Even if you didn't win any of those, you'd still have a chance if you bought a Tour shirt and got a free Tour bag filled with prize opportunities from Wheels Next and Rockford Fosgate. Valvoline was even on hand to give out cash to some lucky person who fronted the decal on their car. Now you tell me, who gives out more free stuff than we do? That's right, no-freakin'-body.
Post-Tour ThoughtsJust as fast as it started, the Tour was over. Now it's just another memory that I share with the west leggers. Good memories, mind you. If you think you're a down ass reader and support Super Street to the fullest extent, you should be on the Tour. If not, then at least the Tuner Bash. You have to attend at least one of the two authentic Super Street events. Then and only then will you get the JDM Wong thumbs-up seal of approval and the patented Rikdaddy arm punch.
I hate to repeat myself, but the west leggers are still the most courteous bunch around. Nobody stole or threw bottles at us. Some of the OG guys, like Richard Crowder, even helped us put up the banners and get the parties ready, since we can always use an extra worker bee. That's what makes the Tour so successful, all of you readers and your support. If I stick around long enough, maybe I'll be able to go for round 3.
West Leg CastFor those of you who drove four days on the west leg and still weren't sure who was running the show, here's the bunch of kooks you were rolling with.
