All Motor
The Honda Tuning All Motor class was down and dirty, and many of the competitors were breaking their cars to keep themselves down in the 10s. Leslie Durst and her '89 CRX came to the party with the number one qualifying position, and Ken Scheepers and Norris Prayoonto were hot on her heels. But where was Scott Mohler? Scott qualified seventh with a low-11 run and didn't look to be in contention. As the days wore on, Scott proved that he may have been sandbagging as he took out Jesus Padilla and Norris Prayoonto in first and second-round eliminations, respectively. Leslie walked on points leader Ken Scheepers in round three, while Scott broke his Neon on the starting line. Things weren't looking too good for the Mopar boys. However, the final round saw the proverbial underdog comeback as Scott not only raced against and beat Leslie, but he set the e.t. and speed records with this run, backing up the earlier 10.056 @ 135.10 mph with a 10.071 @ 135.89 as Leslie limped back to the pits with a broken car.
