Now in its third year, Wekfest has very quickly grown from an extension of a pre-existing Bay Area show into arguably the best import show in the country. The numbers alone are staggering, but the quality of builds brought to Wekfest is simply the best around. Being that the show takes place in February every year, we get to kick off the New Year and see what people have been up to over the winter. It’s a great way to get ready for the upcoming event session and it is here that we get catch glimpses of trends to come for 2011.
This year, the show may have well been called Bayfest, not for the location but the amount of detail in the engine compartments on many of the vehicles. Custom is still alive and well with different textures gaining in popularity. We spotted plenty of cars with custom shaving, wire tucking, powdercoating, polishing, hardware, strut bars, fittings and hoses just to name a few. If you missed the show we’ll let the images speak for themselves, but we do want to let you know that Wekfest has added tour dates for this year including Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas and Florida with LA being the next in line on June 5.
