With last year’s Hellaflush debut at Fuji Speedway running so smoothly, it was Mark Arcenal’s only option to hold another spectacular event only months later—this time, in the Hyogo prefecture of Japan, better known as the Kansai region. Being quite a long distance from Tokyo where the first meet was held meant everyone was anticipating a top-notch, quality car show. Catching a number of local JR trains from central Osaka, heading southwest to a little town by the name of Shin-Nishiwaki was definitely a mission, however it was all worth it. Arriving at the Central Circuit bright and early and seeing the quality of cars in the staging area really made everything worth it. One of the main concerns of the show was that there were simply too many cars for the amount of space the venue had to offer. However, everyone tried to think of that as a positive thing with so many cars wanting to come and see what Hellaflush Japan is all about.
I have to say “ huge congratulations” to Mark and all those who were involved in organizing the Hellaflush Kansai event. The amount of awe-inspiring cars that turned up to the event was uncountable. Seeing the pure quality the Hellaflush scene can pull together in Japan makes me want to fly to Japan specifically for the next one at the end of the year at Fuji Speedway. I’m sure it will be even bigger and better as Mark is always looking for ways to improve.
