As a street car, Hass has kept the chassis in factory configuration-no missing passenger seat, spare tire, or plastic interior panels-leave those for your 19-second Civic coupe. Everything leather remains and comfort is not sacrificed. It has been lowered to the ground with a set of HKS coilovers, and the front strut brace has even been replaced with one from Cusco. A set of 18x8.5 and 19x9.5 Racing Hart M5 five-spoke wheels sit tucked underneath the RX-7's wheelwells and the four-wheel disc brake package has been changed to fit in a set of cross-drilled Powerstop rotors and VGX brake pads.
Keeping true to the street theme, there is even a full tilt audio system in Hass' FD. It may not win any sound competitions, but it will suffice with a CD head unit from Alpine, MTX amps, and Bose speakers. There are also a series of various gauges, which aid in monitoring the engine's performance, such as a GReddy boost, fuel pressure, and EGT gauge, which have been mounted to the driver-side A-pillar. Also used is a digital in-dash unit, which features air and oil temperature readings. We were hoping for some sort of sun visor setup with those tiny monitors inserted in them so we could watch Vivid videos, but no dice.
Hass' Xeven is still more of a performance machine than anyone's station wagon or Civic sans passenger seats and a spare tire. It is beautiful and dangerous, yet it still cannot compete with cute blondes. Especially the kind that talk to Super Street editors.
