We're almost there. Well, Nissan is, at least. Arguably the most highly-anticipated and heralded sled ever to hit the market is on the horizon: the Nissan Skyline GT-R, twin turbo. That's right, we said it. From the rumors and gossip we've heard, the car will be powered by a 3.2L twin-turbo variant of Nissan's stout VQ series of engines.
The GT-R prototype looks more like something that would come from the design meisters at Pininfarina than Nissan. This also means that this is the first GT-R designed as a specific body style and not based off of a sedan. The actual car will be released at the Nissan press conference during the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show at 3:05 pm on Wednesday, October 19.
Word around the campfire is that these pictures are a close representation of what the prototype will look like.
