When we first saw the HKS logo emblazoned across this Impreza 2.5RS at the Import Auto Salon last year, we started drooling on the spot. Deep down, we knew that if we ever got the chance to get behind the wheel of the then-turbocharged Scoobster that we'd probably lose it altogether. Unaware of our undateable propensity toward the expulsion of saliva and foam, HKS thought nothing of loaning us the now-very-turbocharged Impreza for a spin or two or three.

Since we don't get to drive too many turbocharged AWD cars in our line of business, we maximized our time in one of the closest things to Subaru's Euro- and Japan-spec WRX in the States. So for a few far-too-short days and nights, the clean streets around the Super Street super-secret headquarters smelled of the putrid stench of smoky tire rubber that can only be attributed to immature and undersexed automotive weenies having too much fun.
