Inside Track
Past experiences in a Nissan Sentra haven't been bad for me. They always drive fairly well and are comfortable for the most part. The power has always been sufficient but always has me yearning for more. The new 2000 Sentra, however, is a huge improvement over past releases. The four-door version we received has enough room to carry my little brother and his Poke-pals around and packs enough power to lose to a Porsche Carrera 4-well, maybe not a Porsche, but it's plenty fast enough. It needs little to improve on and should not be overlooked as a choice when deciding on a new car, especially if Mom doesn't want you to have that Porsche.-JW
Maybe it's because I had just come off driving the Toyota Vitz/Yaris, which I loved. It was small; it was fun; it was cute. But when I got into the Sentra, I wasn't in love. I know it's unfair to compare a tiny car we can't get in the States to a sedan we can, so I'll stop. The Sentra was a perfectly capable car. Adequate in every way. I agree that it is a huge improvement when compared with its predecessors, and for that Nissan should be applauded. If I were looking for a four-door sedan, the Sentra would definitely be on my list: roomy, affordable, quick enough. It would serve me well as a means of transportation. But it didn't wow me.-BM
