Back In The Day - 1988 Honda CRX

By Roel F. Concepcion, Photography by Roel F. Concepcion

Now back to the Volk III wheels. Right behind them, on-guard, are Rotora brakes protecting the front and rear with ultimate stopping power. Surrounding the Volks are Nitto NT450s waiting to kiss pavement with their sticky lips while they roll down nasty L.A. streets. For stability, Charles opted for the Neuspeed antiroll bars on both ends. This comes in handy when scruffy little dogs jump out of nowhere right in front of your car. Of course, all of us love those rabies-infested pooches and...uh, what's that? Nice going, Charles. You're telling me that there was no way for you to avoid that dog you hit last week. Great. There goes my antiroll theory. At any rate, the Volks also rotate with the help of Tokico shocks and OBX-R coilovers-a marriage made in suspension heaven.

But the most important thing is the fact that my six degrees of CRX has magically turned into one degree with Charles' flawless Honda. The car not only gives me memories of the early import-car scene, but it also allows me to reminesce my first make-out session: "Wow, I didn't know you could use your tongue like this...slobber, slobber..." Also, I can now apologize to my cousin for making all those incest jokes. I swear I didn't know, Cleetus!
