Built by TNT Motorsports, located on both coasts (Killa Cali and Zoo York), Bong's Corolla rocks a 4AGZE engine, which is stroked from 1.6 to 1.8 liters. Inside the motor sits a balanced and blueprinted HKS stroker kit (combination pistons, rods, crank, and chicken chow mein), working with a ported and polished head and 264/356 camshafts with an 8.3 lift. Each and every internal part works tirelessly to make the Garrett GT30 turbo (sitting on top of custom-made Rev Hard headers and flowing boosted air through the custom-made Rev Hard intake manifold [fabricated from a Honda motor, no less]) blow hard like [insert the first female porn star that pops in your head here]. And blowing out equally strong exhaust gases is a very professional Burns stainless muffler. Used by the NASCAR guys and other less-notable motorsports, a tuner can't keep it any real-er than Burns. Among other names that should be included in this Who's Who of Obscure Car Parts is a set of Seimens Motorsports 60-lb/hr fuel injectors, Autronic SMC fuel injection, and an RPM 70mm throttle body.
When it's all said and done, the car is estimated to own between 350-400 horses, a feat that's owed only to Bong's taste in aftermarket candies and his passion for the AE86. Because after all, it's about the passion despite the type of heresy I talked about earlier. It's calming to see a car like this, still alive and well, in the 21st century. And it's equally calming to see up-and-coming tuners choose the hachi as a car of choice at message boards like Club4AG.com. In the long run, these people share the same passions as I did about the car, and that's all that really matters.
Learn Japanese
The AE86 is popularly known as the hachi roku. But most don't even know what it means. So here's some words that'll help you out the next time you talk to a hachi geek or even someone from Japan.
Hachi Roku: "Eight Six"; obviously for the AE86, Corolla Levin/Sprinter Trueno/Corolla GT-S (USA) (1985-1987)
Shinjimae: "F You"; explanation not needed
Ashinoyubi Nametai Na!: "I want to lick your toes"; for the foot fetish fanatic
Ore No Chinpo Saware!: "Touch my [ding a ling]"; used on the first date
Shifuto Naabu O Sue Yo: "Suck my shift knob"; for picking up women
Asoko Kayui Kara Monde Zo: "It itches, would you rub it?"; say this to your doctor
Ike, Omae!: "[Let's partake in a little orgasm]"; Uh, this might be too NC-17 for our PG-13 audience
