If At First Your Wheel Offset Doesn't Succeed - Try, Try, Again
You gotta give it up to the wheel guys and their never-ending quests to achieve perfection when it comes to offset. Who can blame them though? Fail in this department and you can kill the look of your car instantaneously. But when it's your job to supply wheels to the public, you'd better make sure your own ride practices what you preach. In Rick Vejphuyarn's case, this is all too true being that he's the ring leader at Venaci Wheels. And since his recent purchase with this 370Z, he went through six sets of wheels and many calculations to finally find the best fit. His step-lipped Mesh wheels measure in at a good 20-inches in diameter (9.5" wide front/10.5" rear) and sit ever-so-flush with the fenders. But it's not just a fancy set of wheels here...
Being one of the first 370Zs we've ever seen modified here in the States, we first took notice of Rick's car at last year's SpoCom show in the HKS booth where it served as the prototype for some of HKS' first mods for the new Z. That includes the intake, exhaust and the coilovers used to lower the car to ground-hugging proportions. You might also notice the body kit from Aero Jacket, a relatively new company to the scene, which offers a front lip spoiler, side skirts, rear diffuser and rear spoiler, all in the holy name that is 'carbon-fiber'. A further walk around the car reveals subtle touches from InStyle Graphics, like the flat black roof overlay and tinting of the head- and taillights.
Clearly the car is far from being finished but we're really diggin' the way it looks being so fresh out of the box. Rick says Stillen's going to be test-fitting a supercharger soon as we're curious to see what a blown 370Z is capable of now that we've seen a couple twin-turbo versions. If it remains as sleek-looking as this and makes mad horsepower, it'll make the 370Z that much more sweet and at the top of cars we're gonna have to revisit (and test drive).
