- Walking Dead Hyundai Veloster Zombie Survival Machine debuts
- Equipped with weapons and armor
- Styled with forged wheels, orange paint, and fender flares
- Unveiled at Comic-Con San Diego, July 18-21, 2013
In the midst of the bustling event that is Comic Con, we still find ourselves looking for anything automotive. For the second year, Hyundai prepped a car for the popular show The Walking Dead. This year Hyundai went with the Veloster and simply called it the Zombie Survival Machine (ZSM). You'll notice this hatch is not your typical Veloster and has been equipped with weapons Iron Man would be proud of.
The front bumper has a pair of chainsaws and in case the zombies miss that, the saw tooth front grill will be sure to chop them up. For firearms, a double-barrel shotgun, flame thrower and .50-caliber machine gun provide long-range damage. The ZSM is treated with orange paint, forged wheels, wide fender flares, and an off-road style rear bumper.
The ZSM has close-quarters combat covered as well, with a spiked baseball bat, swords, and knives found in the rear. The cabin has been given the anti-zombie treatment with a durable bed liner on the floor, metal armor walls, and storage for ammo, medical kits, and supplementary weapons.
Driving the VSM might require some skill with iron bars and barbed wire obstructing the view from the windows but better safe than Zombie. Sandbags have been added to the front hood for an extra cushion of protection.
The car definitely has the fight, but does it have the option of flight? With tons of equipment, metal, armor, and sand bags, the 1.6L 138 horsepower hatch is going to need a little more pep to power through hordes of zombies. Other than that this ZSM is one bad portable zombie destroyer. Get at me bro!
