As if the anticipation of the Gran Turismo 6 wasn't enough, Polyphony Digital Inc. has announced its partnership with various brands to showcase special concept cars. Gran Turismo is now partners with a number of leading automotive manufacturers, design houses, and other global brands such as Alfa Romeo, Alpine, Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Bertone, GM Design, Honda, Infiniti, Italdesign Giugiaro, JORDAN brand, Mercedes-Benz, Nike, Nissan, Peugeot, SRT(Chrysler) Vokswagon, and Zagato. The designs of these firms will be translated in the digital world for the new Gran Turismo 6. Together with the auto industry Gran Turismo becomes more than just a simple video game.
In the past, the Gran Turismo series has been using computer-aided design (CAD) data of actual cars from automotive manufacturers to reduce the time of designing a car. However, the time it takes to develop a model can still take up to 6 months to create. The time and costs saved in the research phase are spread into modeling for an enhanced final product. Through passion and dedication the modeling team has further strengthened its trust with auto manufacturers.
The initiative celebrates 15 years of the 70-million-selling franchise and is called 'Vision Gran Turismo.' This will give the gamer exclusive cars made from different auto manufacturers. The BMW Vision Gran Turismo will be an exclusive virtual concept that integrates BMW M qualities. Volkswagen gave designers a chance to explore their ideas with a new Golf GTI with the Golf GTI Vision Gran Turismo. The team responsible for creating the Alfa Romeo 4C will celebrate an iconic model from the 1930s with the Alfa Romeo 6C Biposto Vision Gran Turismo. Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo will include the classic Mercedes Benz design elements. Lastly, Nike will be making a revolutionary concept vehicle called Nike ONE. The set of cars will be a gifted downloadable content (DLC) for Gran Turismo 6 owners only through online updates.

Through partnerships with manufacturers the Polyphony Digital team has highlighted the depth of a "real driving simulator." One of the amazing collaborations to date include the Red Bull X210 ultimate race car, GT by Citroen concept, an innovative new GPS and data app developed for the Toyota GT86. The partnership with Nissan has allowed Polyphony to design a display for the real Nissan GT-R and the GT Academy virtual-to-reality racing driver development competition.
Gran Turismo will be available on December 6, 2013 just in time for the holidays. However, the game is already available for pre-order through a number of game retailers. Pre-ordering the GT6 Anniversary Edition or the standard edition will award the gamer with additional cars when the game is released.
