Monster Tajima, a familiar face at Pikes Peaks with his wildly winged Suzuki-based hill-climbers, will be attacking the clouds in a new ride; the Super 86.
Loosely based on the GT86/FR-S, the Super 86 sports heavily re-fashioned bodywork and a revamped chassis slated for mid-engine, all-wheel drive madness. Monster Tajima posted an impressive 9:51.278 up the 12.42-mile course in 2012 and is taking aim at the record of 9:46.164 set in 2012 by Rhys Millen.
The big mystery is beneath the hood where we are unsure what kind of engine will be providing the power. One rumor pegs the powerplant as a 675-horsepower, twin-turbo V6...we will see!
