Last weekend, AutoCon kicked off Southern California’s 2014 show season with a banger in Pomona, CA. AutocCon packed the Pomona Fairplex wall-to-wall with some of the best cars around, including new debuts…Ahem, Darren Yoo’s 2009 Nissan GTR.
The Liberty Walk stuff may not appeal to everyone but this R35 GTR built by LTMW is just simply too sick to ignore. While it looks like a stanced show car, Darren told us his GTR will be driven hard once the big turbos go on. Currently it’s pushing close to 650whp on an E85 tune. The 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 also received Boost Logic bolt-ons, Cobb cat-less downpipes, fuel and tranny upgrades, iPe exhaust and an Ecutek tune. autocon autocon autocon
The exterior was a real AutoCon neck breaker though… The Liberty Walk widebody kit is accompanied by a custom paint job (rumor has it, it’s a Scion color!), plus a one-off carbon-fiber trunk and rebuilt BBS LMs measuring 20x11.5” up front and 20x14.5” in the back – yes, we said 14.5” wide! The dish is massive in person!
Darren hasn’t had much time to work on the GTR prior to its AutoCon debut but the finer details weren’t looked over either with an R’s Tuning rollcage, Recaro Sportster CS seats and Mines steering wheel making up the interior upgrades.
We’ll have more on Darren’s GTR in the coming weeks but props go out to him and his go-to shop LTMW for putting together an incredible build and one of the finest cars at AutoCon this year!
