For a while now the official verse and chorus regarding the edgy S660 concept is that it’s just a concept. The company line made a hard turn when the marque’s president, Takanobu Ito, addressed the media at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show. Early on in his speech he let loose that the concept, that many in the media are calling the spiritual successor to the Honda Beat, will indeed come to market as a punchy small sports car. The bad news: it will likely not make the jump across the Pacific. Honda has nothing between the Civic Si and upcoming six-figure NSX to entice performance-minded car buyers and tuners. The S2000 is gone; we never had a Civic Type R; throw us a bone here, Honda!
