May 2014 Hole Shot - All Nissan Everything

Mar 31, 2014

Themed issues get us giddy. Instead of bringing you awesome content from different makes and models (which is fun, too) we get a chance to put together a magazine that represents everything awesome about a certain manufacturer or theme. In this month's case: Nissans. We searched far and wide to bring you content that'll relate to you, whether you're a horsepower freak, stance addict, old school cat or simply into sick street builds like our cover cars-this issue has something for everyone and will hopefully make a permanent home in your bathroom or on your coffee table.

Battle for Cover

If you could have watched us in the office this month, you would have witnessed our constant fights about what car would take center stage on the cover-I still have scratch marks from Bernice's nails. Ultimately, we had to give it to the R34 Skyline GT-R because of its all-wheel drive and twin-turbo awesomeness, plus the fact that we never had the chance to buy one stateside. It's still held as one of the biggest import icons of all time. And with its limited production from '99-'02, it's becoming harder to find a super-clean yet regularly driven example like David Lai's from Australia, which is why it won a primo spot on this month's cover.

Not just a pretty face, our cover car is a certified weekend warrior!

Thank You

You might have noticed that our regular group of staffers has changed over the last few months. We've had some awesome people on the magazine who have come and gone and we would like to thank them for all their love and support. With that said, Super Street isn't going anywhere and we'll still have the same great cast of contributors along with some fresh faces to make the mag better than ever. So kick back, enjoy our Nissan issue and we look forward to seeing you again next month!

3 Things You Didn't Know About This Issue

1. Feature Editor Matt Jones had a free ride for this issue barely doing an ounce of work [You bastard! -SD]. But he'll make up for it next month when he tells us about his first trip to Tokyo Auto Salon. Still surprised he came back without getting arrested...

2. If you look closely, you can sorta tell that we shot cover model Angelina Andrada in the same location as Claudia Alan, Natalie Chanary, Eva Skye and Natalie Bee. But, shhh... that'll be our little secret.

3. The LS-swapped 240 was built in our own LA office by Peter Tarach. Sadly the car is sold and Peter's magazine is no longer with us. Cheers to Modified!
