ATV Offroad Fury 2 slid across our desk one Friday afternoon-perfect for a weekend test drive, right? Okay, that was two weeks ago and we've only just pried the controller out of our hands long enough to pound out this review. ATV Offroad Fury 2 is addicting. Choose a rider, pick your ATV and gear, and get comfortable. Before you know it, it'll be 1:00 a.m. and you'll be debating on whether to try for the trophy or get some sleep before work the next day (we opted for the trophy).

If you are a fan of Sony's top-selling ATV Offroad Fury, you will not be disappointed by this bigger and better version. It features huge new tracks and is jammed with more modes, more tricks, more ATVs, and the most rocking soundtrack ever. Crank it up to 11 and race your brains out to Korn, Filter, Garbage, Cypress Hill, Alien Ant Farm, and System of a Down to name only a few. And, for a subwoofer workout there is some killer Hip Hop and Rap that will have your couch vibrating along with your controller. Key features include: first and third person view which is playable on all levels, 40 huge environments, six different events, and six racing modes. There are also four mini-games, Tag, Hockey, King of the Hills and Treasure Hunt which are solid little games that are totally fun in multi-player mode. For larger group-play connect two or more PlayStations together with I-Link or get a Network Adaptor to play up to four players online. After racing constantly for two weeks, it seemed like we only scratched the surface of all this game has to offer.

As expected, Sony delivered a dynamic race environment with first-rate graphics. A nice feature of this game is that the ATVs, even the lower-level ones, handle very realistically based on the weather conditions and the various terrains including water, mud, ice, and sand. Controls are smooth and responsive and all the ATVs are tricked-out, enabling players to race competitively and aggressively. Be prepared to fight hard to stay in the top spots, other riders try to cut you off, run into you, land on you after a jump, or force you off the road all in their mad efforts to win the race. To gain more profile points which you can use to purchase faster ATVs and gear, learn to master your trick combos. Put it all together and power your way through the ranks by riding hard in Enduro, Nationals, Supercross, Freestyle and Short Track courses. We suggest you check it out yourself and experience the hype that delivers on every turn.
