Lost Planet: Extreme Condition

House Arrest - Kill Time Killing Everything

Dec 15, 2006

Capcom has been on fire this past year by releasing several top titles like Okami, Dead Rising, God Hand and now Lost Planet: Extreme Condition for the Xbox 360. Lost Planet scored big awards even before its official release date to give the 360 another solid title sure to inspire some "game envy" from other console owners.

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition opens in the 22nd century as the Earth lies in ruins, forcing mankind to move on to another world in order to survive. A small band of humans called Snow Pirates manage to colonize a hostile, frozen planet and must do battle with Akrids, indigenous creatures on the planet, for precious Thermal Energy in order to survive. Gamers play as Wayne, a top Snow Pirate who not only must battle the Akrids, but also uncovers a plot from the evil NEVEC (Neo Venus Construction Corporation) to sterilize the planet of both Akrids and humans.

A huge, playable environment has players battling above and below ground for control. Action takes place on foot and in cool vehicles called Vital Suits that not only help gamers travel over difficult terrain quickly and easily, but they are also equipped with some fantastic firepower to take out Akrids and other opposing human forces. Switch between VS action and on-the-ground action to suit the situation at hand. Besides physical enemies, gamers must contend with extreme planetary conditions like enormous mountains of ice, raging snow storms and biting arctic winds to add to the challenging gameplay. Xbox Live subscribers can take advantage of great additional features like more maps, different weapons and new missions. Co-op and versus matches are available for great multiplayer action as well. Lost Planet: Extreme Condition is a third-person shooter that is a great way to get through some long winter nights.
