Virtua Fighter by Sega originated the 3-D fighting genre so it's only right that Virtua Fighter 5 finds a new console to conquer as it debuts on the new PS3 from Sony. The hardcore fighting action that made the series popular gets upgraded and remade for the next gen. console, keeping the series fresh and fun with it's added extras.

The Fifth World Fighting Tournament has been announced and invitations sent to 17 of the best fighters in the world to come together to fight in the tournament. Little do the fighters know that the tournament's sponsor has evil, underlying motives for the contestants-using them to create the perfect fighting machine to achieve world domination. Redesigned fighting locations take inspiration from places around the globe to create gorgeous, 3-D environments that offer up different types of fighting arenas to keep gamers challenged and coming back for more.

Favorite characters return to fight in the tournament series, as well as two new fighters added to the game. The first is El Blaze, a Mexican wrestling champ who uses the Lucha Libre fighting style, and the second is Eileen, a champion fighter who uses "Kou-Ken", a Monkey Kung Fu style taught to her by her grandfather. If that's still not good enough, customize a character to give it a new look and signature style with cool, unlockable items, or use prize money to get other sweet gear at the in-game store.

One of the best new features is the "Offensive Move" which allows gamers to incorporate a bit of strategy into their fight plan. Fights will no longer be just a full-frontal assault, as this feature increases a gamer's maneuverability. Now, gamers can move around the side or the back of an opponent to gain an advantage to hopefully deliver that signature smackdown.

Virtua Fighter 5 from Sega brings an old favorite to a new generation console and fans of fighting games will want to check this out.

Less is more. Keep it simple. Go for an OEM look. Ice Sorsongsermkul isn't hearing any of that. In fact, he's gone completely the opposite direction with his RX-7, with a spec list that reads like a "who's who" of the tuning industry.
