Last year, Capcom's Monster Hunter Freedom wowed gamers by delivering a game that not only looked fantastic, but was also deep and action packed. It's not surprising that it went on to superstar status becoming one of the PSP's best-selling titles. This year's sequel, Monster Hunter Freedom 2, amps it up to bring gamers a jam-packed game twice as big as the first. Every aspect of the game received the "bigger is better" treatment, so be prepared for hundreds of quests, more monsters, maps, weapons and armor. It's easy to see that even the most hardcore fans will have plenty of play time before reaching the end of the game.
Where Monster Hunter Freedom 2 really shines though is in it's multiplayer campaigns. Up to four players can hook up through wireless ad-hoc mode to play a co-op adventure by playing through over 200 quests. Like the first game, gamers increase their play skills as they battle through the game in order to build-up armor and weapons to take on even bigger monsters and challenges. The key to the game is definitely flexibility. Gamers must be able to quickly change strategy and fighting tactics to keep up with the various terrains of the new game maps, the day/night cycles and the over 70 beasts that roam the lands.
If all of this isn't enough, new infrastructure mode allows gamers to download even more content and quests, insuring that gamers have plenty of options and variety to keep coming back for more. Monster Hunter Freedom 2 delivers a great sequel and is one of the best games to hit the PSP this year.
