You are a feared assassin named Altair and are known for your ruthlessness. Your identity is shrouded in secrecy and your goals are simple: Eliminate both sides of the conflict in order to put an end to the warring factions tearing the world apart. The catch here is that gamers must take a journey back in time to 1191 A.D and in the middle of the conflict of the Third Crusade that threatens to destroy the Holy Land. Ubisoft takes players into exciting new territories of gameplay that push the boundaries of gaming by immersing players into a vibrant, living world with life-like details and atmosphere.

Assassin's Creed is more than just a good-looking backdrop with historically accurate details. The other characters in the game, including background characters are all "intelligent" enough to react to gameplay situations in real time. All of these amazing features add up to a game that tests your skills and your cunning as you try to complete your quests as the master assassin.

Assassin's Creed is a wide-open game that gives gamers ultimate freedom to track down and take out targets any way possible. There are no set guidelines of how to complete tasks, so stalk your victims through the city by blending into the crowd or sneaking along the tops of buildings or hiding behind doorways-whatever you need to do to get the job done. Getting to victims is not easy, and you must be on your guard at all times, because every action has consequences and situations can quickly change from being under control to total chaos. It nearly goes without saying to plan your attacks wisely, but remember that hesitation kills, so be merciless in your strikes and don't be surprised at how often you have to fight your way to freedom to make your escape. A wide variety of medieval weapons are available throughout the game so don't get hung up on using just a couple of "favorite" weapons for every mission. It's always best to develop a nice arsenal of weapons and skills to help you gain the advantage and come out on top in dangerous and risky situations that are waiting for you at every turn. Assassin's Creed is an amazingly cool action game that finally steps into that "next gen" world that everyone has been anxiously waiting to arrive.
