It's no secret that the Guitar Hero franchise is genius. It has turned millions of music fans from all corners of the world into guitar gods. But now, it's time to go from god to legend, in Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock. The game features a huge new song list that covers 40 years of rock music across the gamut-from old school rock to punk, to heavy metal, grunge and more. Guitar Hero 3 offers more than just a new song list; developers amped up the competition with new game modes, expanded online options, overhauled graphics and included new wireless guitar controllers.

To transition from god to legend, gamers need to turn it up a notch. As the game says, "You've got to beat the best, to be the best," meaning players must take on "Boss Battles" against legendary rockers like Slash and Tom Morello to gain those bragging rights. Beat them in the game and they become playable characters for gamers to use. Another great updated feature is the redone "co-op career" mode that allows friends to rock out and progress through their careers together. Guitar Hero 3 has a nice selection of expanded online features that allow gamers to compete head-to-head with anyone, anywhere, for any brutal competition.

For the first time, the guitar controllers are wireless and come in two different models. The Les Paul guitar shape is for all the consoles except the PS2. The PS2 gets its very own Gibson Kramer model guitar; both models can be detached at the neck for easier portability and storage. Guitar Hero 3: The Legends of Rock is more than just a set of new songs; it's an upgraded and improved version that true fans must check out.
