Top Story: The Ultimate All FF Battle
For 2009, Super Street will hold the ultimate FF Battle amongst the Honda family with six B-Series powered vehicles versus six K-Series powered vehicles. Cars will be competing for fastest lap times as well as other performance categories like horsepower and g-forces. All cars competing in this event will be given a set of Continental ContiSport 3s to level the playing field, other than that, we're on the lookout for the best Honda has to offer. EKs with B18C5s, EGs with K20s, FD2s, DC5s whatever you got; if you think you have what it takes, hit us up. (Did I miss the memo about D16s? - SK). SOURCE: www.superstreetonline.com
Hey what's up Sean... oh I mean Jesus. I've got a dilemma... I'm sleeping with my neighbor and she's a hot MILF but she's married with kids. Tell me what should I do?
What would JESUS do?
Well Raul, it sounds as though you've gotten yourself into quite a sticky situation. There are a number of things that could affect what I would do in your situation, in no particular order, things to consider are...
1. Are you currently in a committed relationship?
2. How hot is this MILF?
3. How strong is the husband? Does he own guns?
If you're single, the mom is the hottest cougar you've ever seen and that dad is a total WUSS, I'd say nail it like no tomorrow. If there are different circumstances then you really have to weigh your options. I'm not trying to get killed by some construction worker for knockin' boots with his 250lb trailer slut... `naw mean?
Scion XB RS 6.0
Scion announced its first limited-production vehicle for 2009, the xB Release Series 6.0. The 2009 xB Release Series 6.0 comes exclusively in Absolutely Red exterior paint. A unique front grille with custom black finish and Release Series wheel covers distinguish this limited-production xB. A color-keyed rear spoiler will be available as an option. Inside, the xB features a touch-screen Pioneer Audio Visual Navigation (AVN) head unit with flash memory, voice recognition, MSN Direct, and Bluetooth. For media player flexibility, the AVN unit comes with USB, SD card, and iPod connectivity. The Pioneer AVN head unit is also satellite radio and HD Radio ready and will play DVDs and iPod videos. In addition, users can select from more than 32,000 colors to customize the 5.8-inch high-resolution WVGA LCD touch-panel display. Absolutely Red makes its mark inside the xB as well with color-tuned four-in-one interior lights, RS 6.0 illuminated door sills, and accented interior trim and color-tuned seat fabric. Individually numbered badging completes the uniqueness of this vehicle. Only 2,500 units of the xB RS 6.0 will be built.
The xB RS 6.0 model will carry a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of $1,743 over the base price of the xB. Not too bad for a limited production trim.SOURCE: www.scion.com
Godzilla Part II
If you thought the GT-R was cool already, Nissan is about to really make it hurt. A limited-production GT-R SpecV model is scheduled to go on sale this year in Japan. The SpecV will have a carbon-fiber rear spoiler, a carbon-fiber grille, and carbon-fiber brake ducts. It will only be available in Ultimate Black Opal. As the GT-R should have been from the get go, SpecV models will be a two-seater. Non-SpecV models are all four-seaters. Carbon-fiber bucket seats will be supplied by none other than Recaro.
Horsepower is estimated at 550. With a new boost controller, the SpecV will have greater torque in the mid-range while having better fuel economy in the low-end. In addition to the new carbon-ceramic brakes, the exhaust will be titanium-coated. Overall driver feel will be enhanced acceleration and braking over the already superb GT-R. Carbon, titanium, and more horsepower... things we all crave. Too bad, the SpecV is not yet scheduled for US release. We'll just have to wait and see if Nissan USA feels there's a market for a newer badder Godzilla.
What Are you Doing with...
Normally you take random calls from our in-house random extraordinaire, Charles but since he took over the editor's duties this month, we gave JDM Wong the shameful task of calling a random reader, in this case our own Tetsu - all on US time. We love waking people up at 4am. This will show them it's always wise to put that phone on silent or shut it down when you're getting that shut eye! Want a random call from Charles next time? Email us your phone number at email@example.com.Tetsuya Ogushi,Saitama, Japan
(phone rings multiple times, then connects to a Japanese message system that cannot be understood, hang up)
(try again, phone rings multiple times then finally connects to a live voice)
Jonathan: Hai-hai Tetsu. Ohayogozaimasu! What time is it?
Tetsu: It's vely earry. I am sreeping now.
Jonathan: Oh, it's 4 in the morning. Sorry.
Tetsu: What do you want?
Jonathan: Nothing really. I can just email you. Did you have a long night at soapland?
Tetsu: What?? Please don't calling me this earry anymore.
Jonathan: You're funny Tetsu. When are you coming back to the States?
Jonathan: Hello? Tetsu?
Tetsu: (sighs) I am velly angly now. (click)
Classic Super Street
Ten years ago, Hondas dominated the import car scene, and Super Street was no exception. We had tons of great Hondas. The April 1999 issue had classics like Steph Papadakis' drag EF/EK Civic to sneak peaks of the upcoming S2000. Also an old school DA Integra on Mugen M7s and a CRX that put Ed Bergenholtz on the map. And of course, our now editor in chief, Jonny Wong, was still the FNG.
Straight outta J-pan. Engrish from our man in Japan. Read if you dare.Honda announced stop to develop new NSX because of bad global economic. Honda built prototype NSX and was testing at the racetracks few month ago. These days, I can't find any good news about sport cars. It looks like the market says "no more sport cars." But Nissan is selling GT-R and 370Z. And Toyota has still plan of new Hachiroku sport car. Honda will sell another Civic Type-R 3-doors hatchback. Honda of Europe is also selling Civic Type-R 3-doors hatchback. Japanese Civic Type-R is sedan. Japanese car magazine Xa Car, and readers keep on saying Civic Type-R hatchback is real Civic Type-R and Honda of Japan should sell it in Japan. They say it from 2006 until now and I think Honda of Japan catch up and decide to sell Civic Type-R hatchback in Japan. Civic Type-R hatchback made in Europe that's why Japanese Honda ship it to Japan from Europe. Japanese Civic Type-R sedan is different with Civic Type-R hatchback. Type-R sedan and Type-R hatchback have K20 motor but sedan's motor makes 228HP, hatchback's motor makes 203HP. Civic Type-R hatchback's chassis is modified Honda Fit chassis. I think you don't understand why Xa Car magazine and readers say Civic Type-R hatchback is good car. Civic Type-R sedan is almost race car. Suspension set up is hard so it is hard to drink a cup of coffee while driving. I think Type-R sedan is very good on the racetrack. If you thought you wanted to enjoy to drive it on street and racetrack, Civic Type-R sedan is best. But if you thought you wanted to enjoy to drive it on the street and mountain pass (Don't do street racing!) and you need to take your grandparents, Civic Type-R hatchback is best. I think we Japanese is very lucky because Japanese can choose sedan Type-R or Hatchback Type-R in Japan. I am surprising very much because one car magazine Xa Car and readers can change big companies mind. Honda of Japan didn't think about Civic Type-R Hatchback for selling in Japan last year. I think Presedent Obama's catchword is not just dream word. Japanese car magazine and the readers change it before the election in USA in 2008. I wonder if Super Street and you can change big car companies mind.www.myspace.com/oted15Tetsu
"Chopping the top of a car is nothing new. Guys with old American V-8 customs have been doing it to their cars for 50 years. But we've never seen it done to a '98 Civic Type-R before..."Brent Romans, talking about Signal Auto's chop top drag car. The roof was lowered over four inches, to reduce wind drag and weight.
