In addition to announcing that its sales have increased by nearly 40 percent year-to-date, Japanese automaker Subaru also announced the pricing for the 2014 WRX and WRX STI. Both received an increase of $225. The destination fee received a bump as well going from $770 to $795.

The 2014 WRX, much like the 2013 WRX Special Edition, features standard all-wheel drive and is capable of 265hp and 244 lb.-ft. of torque produced by its 2.5-liter turbocharged BOXER engine - this gives the car an edge on its competition. Although the competition is more affordable, the 2014 Ford Focus ST ($24,910) and 2013 Volkswagen GTI ($24,995) offer less power at 252hp and 200hp, respectively. And neither offer all-wheel drive. The WRX also comes equipped with standard sport-tuned suspension, 17-inch alloy wheels and an AM/FM/CD stereo with six speakers, Bluetooth audio streaming and hands-free connectivity and iPod control.

For $28,495 you can upgrade to the WRX Premium, which adds fog lights, a power moonroof, and a body-color trunk spoiler on the sedan. The All-Weather Package includes heated front seats, heated exterior mirrors, a windshield wiper de-icer, and comes standard. There’s also the WRX Limited with a price tag of $30,290 – that will get you leather-trimmed upholstery and high-intensity discharged (HID) headlights. For an additional $1,100, you can add the Navigation System with AHA connected service. The system features a 6.1-in. touch screen, SD card map upgrades and more.

Finally, the powerful WRX STI capable of producing 305hp and 290 lb-ft of torque comes exclusively equipped with Brembo brakes and a Multi-Mode Vehicle Dynamics Control system, which features a track mode. The four-door STI is priced at $35,290 and the STI Limited at $38,640. All STI models come standard with HID headlights and the All-Weather package mentioned previously. The STI hatch can be purchased for $37,290 and comes equipped with BBS forged aluminum-alloy wheels, fog lights, rear window wiper/washer and special cargo area features. The Navigation System is also available as an option for $1,100.
