DeltaWing Back on Track With Mazda Power

Sep 16, 2013

Nissan’s DeltaWing racer, a combination of a Bonneville land speed rocket car and a Batman Returns–era Batmobile, had a harsh 2012, testing its crash worthiness more than its appetite for speed. One of the skirmishes was with the Toyota TS030 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Don Panoz, a principal in the car, has started an engine project based on the tried-and-proven Mazda MRZ. The program uses twin turbos to pump out a reported 345 hp. Look for the freshened Nissan at select American Le Mans Series Races in 2013.
