Last night, world-renowned aftermarket aero kit specialists, Vorsteiner, held a reception to unveil their latest creation - their McLaren MP4-VX kit.
Held inside the Vorsteiner headquarters in Garden Grove, CA, the event featured not one but two McLaren 12Cs adorned with their new kit along with a stock showroom fresh model thanks to McLaren of Newport Beach. With nearly three-quarters of a million dollars in McLaren iconography around every corner, attendees were becoming anxious to see the company's newest creation. Champagne flowed and hors d'oeuvres circulated.
At last! The moment had arrived. As the velvet covers were pulled back the MP4-VX was now officially on the market. The crowed cheered and flashes from iPhones and cameras were ready to share with the world one of the most beautiful aero kits for the MP4-12C.
Constructed from the latest dry carbon fiber pre-preg autoclave technology the kit features a front bumper with dual air duct system and side ventilation louvers. An add on spoiler, a full rear bumper with dual ventilation louvers and central vent opening, a carbon and kevlar rear diffuser with integrated diffuser tunnels and a four piece carbon fiber skirt blades with floating front fin elements on either side behind the front wheels. Less we forget about Vorsteiner's newest one-piece forged aluminum wheels (20x9" f, 20x12" r) also found their way on both show cars. The wheels are tailor engineered for the 12Cs specific load rating for the weight of the car to maximize the weight savings during the CNC milling process.
While the aggressive kits boast inspiration from more aggressive racing series the MP4-12C is found in around the world, the company has not sacrificed ground clearance for those who want to pop in on a local car meet killer curbs or toss the keys to a local valet driver for the night.
