• The 2014 Range Rover Sport sets record at Pikes Peak
• New commercial highlights the 12 minute and 35 second record
• Global marketing campaign launched “Driven to Another Level”
• The Sport 5.0L Supercharged V8 is Land Rover’s fastest vehicle
It was not too long ago that the all-new 2014 Range Rover Sport made its debut at the 2013 New York Auto Show, and today, Land Rover North America has announced a brand new global marketing campaign with the theme “Driven to Another Level.” The campaign includes a commercial, which illustrates how the production-vehicle set a record time at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb Course. The SUV completed the course in 12 minutes and 35 seconds.
According to Land Rover, since its inception in 2005, in North America 120,000 Range Rover Sport models have been sold, making it the top-selling Land-Rover vehicle in the U.S. The Sport 5.0L Supercharged V8 has an output of 510hp and can go from 0-60 mph in 5.0s. Additionally, it features an all-new aluminum unibody architecture, as opposed to the previous models, which were made from steel. As a result the new Sport is 800lbs lighter.
"The all-new 2014 Range Rover Sport is a hallmark Land Rover representing true breadth of capability with incredible on-road and off-road handling and performance," said Kim McCullough, Brand Vice President, Land Rover North America. "We developed a campaign that lives up to this remarkable car, with creative that communicates its unique attributes and media properties that connect with our core customer who is as capable and driven as the Range Rover Sport itself."
The all-new 2014 Range Rover Sport is in showrooms now and starts at $63,495.
