Honda Returns to Formula 1

Sep 26, 2013

Honda and McLaren are reuniting in Formula 1 competition starting with the ’15 campaign. It seems recent engine package rule changes have made Honda’s transition back into F1 more attractive (Honda President and CEO Taknobu Ito and McLaren’s Martin Whitmarsh pictured). The series is moving to turbocharged 1.6L V6 powerplants with direct injection and energy recover technology.

The challenge set by Formula 1’s new technical regulations provides Honda with the perfect opportunity to return to the pinnacle of motorsport. Honda has always treated Formula 1 as a platform for world-beating technical innovation and will surely relish the opportunity once again to showcase on a global sporting stage its engine technicians’ unparalleled engineering prowess.”
