• Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG Racing Concept will debut at the IAA
• The 2.0L turbocharged concept is meant to be raced internationally
• Features adjustable suspension, carbon components and AMG high-performance brakes
The Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG Racing Concept will make its world premiere at the IAA in Frankfurt/Main, Germany soon. The decision to unveil the concept was directly affected by the successful launch of the SLS AMG GT3 racecar, which now carries a string of individual race wins and championship titles. The 2.0L turbocharged CLA45 AMG Racing Concept is meant to be raced internationally if the demand is high enough.
Although technical specifications will vary according to the race rules and series, the CLA45 AMG Racing Concept has all the typical features of a racecar. The engine output and power transmission are variable. The features include an adjustable racing suspension, paddle shift gearbox and the AMG high-performance braking system equipped with an anti-lock system.
Carbon fiber bits are abundant and found in places such as the new front and rear apron, flared wings and side sill panels ahead of the rear wheels, which ensure effective cooling of the rear brakes.
The interior features a roll cage, carbon fiber P 1300 GT racing bucket seat from Recaro, and a fire extinguishing system.
