  • Available in Europe with prices at $74857 for the 'Saloon' and $79640 for the 'Touring'
  • 350hp and 516 lb-ft of torque, 0-62mph in 4.6sec
  • Top speed of 173mph
  • Diesel fuel consumption estimated at 53.2mpg
  • Abundant interior, exterior and aerodynamic upgrades

BMW has an obvious reputation for driver-oriented vehicles, but when Alpina gets its hands on one, you know it's going to be above and beyond most BMW aficionado's expectations. The Alpina D3 Bi-Turbo is a shining example of where diesel has come. It produces 350hp and 516 lb-ft of torque and can go from 0-62mph in 4.6sec. A top speed of 173mph and a fuel-efficient 53.2mpg rating is the icing on the cake. But those in the US, don't get your credit cards out yet because this is yet another Europe-only release - unfortunate, we know.

"What makes these figures even more remarkable is that the D3 Bi-Turbo is also a luxury car that delivers its world-beating performance alongside uncompromising comfort and refinement," Matthew Stripling, Sales Manager at Alpina GB said. "The new six-cylinder D3 has a wonderful bespoke feel that touches all the senses to make every journey a pleasure, whether commuting to work or powering through the mountains."

Based on BMW's latest generation 3-Series, the development process of the Alpina D3 Bi-Turbo was a two-year program where every aspect of the car was analyzed for top performance, luxury and style. A team of 50 development engineers worked to enhance the engine, gearbox, cooling system, body structure, wheels, tires, aerodynamics, suspension and interior.

The interior has received some Alpina appointed upgrades including luxury carpet overmats and Alpina logos on the seat backs and door sills. Alpina Blue adorns the instruments, while the steering wheel is covered in hand-stitched Lavalina leather.

The exterior has been updated with 19" Alpina alloy wheels, four outlet exhaust with 'intelligent' acoustic valve, as well as aerodynamic enhancements developed in BMWs wind tunnel.

Standard in the Alpina D3 Bi-Turbo is an eight-speed automatic transmission, Adaptive M Sport Suspension, leather upholstery, electrically adjustable heated sports seats, climate control and Bi-Xenon headlights. While standard features are plenty, optional personalization features are also available including the Alpina Blue and Green signature paintwork, hand-stitched full leather interior, and a wide range of hand-finished woods for the dashboard and doors.

Available in the UK, prices start at $74857 for the 'Saloon' and $79640 for the 'Touring' models.
