Mercedes-Benz marks the end of a successful era with its SLS AMG supercar by producing one last variant – the SLS AMG GT Final Edition. Only 350 units will be built globally as either a Coupé or Roadster. The German automaker unveiled its exclusive vehicle at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show.

A naturally aspirated AMG 6.3L V8 front-mid engine capable of producing 583hp, and 479 lb-ft of torque powers this unmistakable supercar. It has a top speed of 197mph and a claimed acceleration of 0-60 mph in 3.6sec.

Tobias Moers, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-AMG GmbH said:

"As the first car to be completely developed by AMG, the SLS AMG marked the beginning of a new era for our company. And now, in the form of the SLS AMG GT Final Edition, we are offering our customers one final and extremely attractive variant of our super sports car. With its numerous carbon fiber-look body components, a further optimized aerodynamic balance and optional Cup tires, the SLS AMG GT Final Edition has the absolute potential to fascinate."

The exterior features an exposed carbon fiber hood, rear spoiler, and front splitter. It also comes with designo magno graphite matte paintwork taken from the SLS AMG GT3 "45th Anniversary" collector's model race car.

The interior boasts leather in a diamond-stitch pattern, and high-gloss carbon fiber trim adorned with an "AMG Final Edition - 1 of 350" badge on the carbon fiber center console.

Since its inception in 2009, the SLS AMG has won numerous racing awards in its various guises, in particular the racing gullwing model at the Bathurst 12-hour race and the 24-hour races in Dubai. A gullwing coupe was made available for the SLS AMG in 2010, with the option carrying over to the Final Edition.

Mercedes-Benz is saying farewell to its SLS AMG, but as a parting gift it’s leaving with us the Final Edition. Expect the supercar to hit showroom floors in Fall 2014.
