Two fresh Minis debuted at the 2014 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, Michigan, this week. One of those was the Mini John Cooper Works (JCW) Concept, which had its world premiere at the show.

This latest generation Mini features characteristic go-kart handling but is now enhanced with adjustable dampers offered as an option for the first time. The interior is more spacious than before, providing 30 percent more luggage space. Other materials and finishes are a refinement for this latest version, which has become the first automobile in its class to be fitted with LED headlamps and a Head-Up display, according to Mini.

A choice of the standard Mini or Mini S will be available as well as a standard six-speed manual transmission or the optional six-speed automatic. The new Mini features an enhanced engine and transmission along with improved aerodynamics and extensive Minimalism technology that all contribute to the new car. The new Mini will be available Spring 2014 in the US.

The John Cooper Works Concept represents the cars next generation, featuring large air inlets in the front apron and a rear spoiler as well as side sills and rear apron. Additionally, 18in JCW light alloy wheels, a sports brake system and sport exhaust further separate the concept as the top-of-the-line performance model of the Mini family.
