Event categories include: road rally, autocross, speed-stop challenge, road course and design/engineering competition. All the action is then shown in a 13 episode televised series by MAV TV dubbed Optima Batteries search for the Ultimate Street Car.
Registration is officially open for the first two events of the year starting with Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca (March 7-9) in Monterey, CA and Texas Motor Speedway (March 21-23) in Fort Worth, Texas. All entrants who participate in the weekend events will also have the opportunity to be invited to Las Vegas for the Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational (OUSCI), which is the championship event for the series and will take place after the SEMA show.
"Spirit of the Event" awards will also gain participants the opportunity to be invited to OUSCI. Prices range from the $20 a person for pit passes to $500 for non-members to participate in all events.
